Introductory speech at the Briefing “Overcoming Borders through Compliance Management Education: Germany and Ukraine” within the Erasmus+ EUComplianceM4UA Project (24.04.2025, Kyiv)

On 24 April 2025, the team from the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine took part in the briefing “Overcoming Borders through Compliance Management Education: Germany and Ukraine”, held at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre within the framework of the Erasmus+ EUComplianceM4UA Project.

The event provided an important platform for discussing the significance of German-Ukrainian cooperation, the role of compliance management in education and science, and the importance of Erasmus+ support in ensuring project funding in Ukraine.

Svitlana SHYTIKOVA, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She emphasised the importance of implementing compliance management principles in Ukrainian higher education institutions, particularly in the context of European integration and post-war recovery. She also underlined the crucial role of the Erasmus+ Programme in supporting institutional development, promoting academic integrity, and introducing European management standards in the education and research sectors.

Iryna SHTEIMILLER, Head of the International Relations Office at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, moderated the event.

The briefing gathered the following speakers:

  • Nataliia SHALIMOVA, National Coordinator of the EUComplianceM4UA Project, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Central Ukrainian National Technical University;
  • Roman NESTERENKO, Official Representative of the EUComplianceM4UA Project from the Ukrainian side, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
  • Danylo GLOBA, Deputy Director General for Legal Affairs, YouControl, lawyer. 

During the event, the participants discussed key challenges and prospects for the development of compliance management in Ukraine’s educational sector, its role in enhancing trust towards educational and research institutions, and the importance of international experience for effective modernisation of governance systems.
